Career Profile
I am a devoted learner, returning to the software engineering field after obtaining my MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. After previously working as a Software Engineer, I returned to school to pursue pre-med, mathematics, and scientific research. Scientific research in the context of computer science with biological applications turned out to be very fulfilling and my MS in CS has helped me realize a better and current understanding of the software field. I look forward to discussing how my previous experience and skills will be beneficial to your development team.
Professional Experience
- Interfaced a React.js/Neutralino.js application with GitHub, AWS, and the local file system.
- Created, dockerized, and tested a Flask RESTful API that interfaced with a scientific LLM.
- Created and managed GitHub Action scripts for building, uploading, and organizing Docker containers and bioinformatics workflows.
- Applied Machine Learning and data science techniques in R to processed Genomic data.
- Contributed to academic publications, writing open source software, and creating tutorials.
- Implemented Java-based, RESTful web services for Liberty Mutual.
- Maintained requirement documentation related to the front-end.
- Coordinated with customers on requirement gathering and infrastructure/resource planning.
- Participated in nearly the full SDLC; designed and implemented full-stack Java/Javascript/jQuery web applications, Linux installation scripts, internal tools, testing frameworks, and documentation.
- Focused on several LIMS software applications that automated the tracking of human samples through various diagnostic pipelines, management of sample locations in well-plates for testing, transfer of samples between physical locations, results display, and sign off
Academic Volunteering
- Continuing additional work to complete lab objectives needed to publish.
- Testing and restructuring bioinformatics workflows.
- Built out software that aids scientists/researchers with using bioinformatics workflows.
- Running protein folding, molecular dynamics simulations in Gromacs.
- Creating data tools, statistical tools, and process automation with C-language and Linux C-shell.
Projects
Biodepot Launcher -
This React/Neutralino-based desktop application simplifies using reproducible bioinformatics workflows, locally and in the cloud.
Grad School: Sentiment Analysis Project -
d3.js visual aid which helps the user understand the sentiment of reviews from lodging sites. I wrote the front end and the data was generated by teammates. Best viewed in Google Chrome.
